Basel Yanes, M.D.

Dr. Basel Yanes earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Miami Valley Hospital and his Fellowship in Medical Oncology Hematology at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Yanes is board certified in Internal Medicine and a subspecialty in Hematology and has practiced in the Dayton area since 1976.

Dr. Yanes is the current Medical Director of Oncology at Kettering Medical Center since 2011. He served as the Medical Director of the David L. Rikes’ Cancer Center at Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) from 1987 to 2010 and as the Chairman of the Oncology Committee and Chairman of the Tumor Board at MVH from 1982 to 2010. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He was awarded Teacher of the Year in 1981 and 1984 at Miami Valley Hospital.

Dr. Yanes is the member of multiple medical and community organizations and has served the Dayton Community for over 30 years in this capacity.

Dr. Yanes is also the author of many publications and articles on Oncology and Hematology and has participated and been the Principal Investigator for multiple Clinical Trials.
